Uraia Trust
REDO is an implementing partner for Uraia Trust Governance project on rooting democracy being implemented in Bungoma County from 2016 to date.
Currently REDO is implementing project on improved health delivery in Bungoma County through promotion of Social Accountability using community score cards, public participation, participatory planning & budgeting, budget analysis and policy analysis & influencing.
The organization has built a pool of 25 budget champions who are helping the community in budget analysis and giving their priorities during different county planning and budget process. REDO plans to have at least five in each Ward.
REDO also has partnered with County CSOs and County Government to sensitize the public on preventive measures of COVID 19 by using 38 Civic educators spread in the nine sub-Counties to offer public health education. We have also distributed more than 2000 posters on COVID 19 using the same civic educators and running radio talk shows in vernacular on the same.
REDO Kenya together with other CSOs in Bungoma has managed to increase accountability levels in Bungoma County by conducting community score card in health and also participating in County budget making process effectively. We have managed to increase public participation in County processes through sustained civic education program where we have reached over 70000 individuals directly within the past 4 years. We also contributed to increased representation of women in both elective and appointive posts in Bungoma through training of women aspirants towards August 8th 2017 election on political campaign strategies.
